Dr. Kalika Mathur is a molecular biologist by training with expertise in vector-borne diseases.

She did B.Sc. in Biotechnology, where she achieved the university merit position and later her M.Sc. in Biotechnology, both from the Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur. She completed her Ph.D from the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, New Delhi. She also qualified CSIR/UCG-NET and received the CSIR Research Fellowship during her Ph.D. Her doctoral research was focused on the functional analysis of Chikungunya virus replication machinery that involved predicting the effects of mutations on virus–host interactions and understanding the RNA interference response against the Chikungunya virus.

Dr. Mathur has years of experience in the fields of research and education. She has participated in many national and international conferences and has several published articles in high impact-factor journals such as Nature Scientific Reports and Virology to her credit.

She proactively volunteers to spread awareness about stigmas associated with Human Immunodeficiency Virus through public lectures in various government schools in Delhi. Being a science enthusiast, she believes in education for all and engaging the scientific community to bridge the gap between science and society.
