Dr. Vineeta Kashyap, Ph.D
Scientific Editor:
Dr. Vineeta Kashyap completed her B.Sc (H) in Biochemistry from Deshbandhu College , University of Delhi and M.Sc in Biochemistry from Jamia Hamdard, Hamdard University, New Delhi. She received Senior Research fellowship from Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and ICMR Fellowship Scheme for pursuing Ph. D in Biochemistry from All India Institute of Medical Sciences , New Delhi. During her research, Dr. Kashyap studied the unique mechanisms underlying the anergic T cells in Leprosy patients. Her study was primarily focused on stimulation of these non- functional T cells using novel immunomodulators Murabutide and Trat peptide in liposomal formulation. Her work involved the activation of enzymes ( such as the kinases and phosphatases) and transcription factors in the T cell signaling pathways in the presence of M. leprae antigen(s) alone or along with the immunomodulators.
Later, Dr. Kashyap joined National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and focused her research on development of rat models of Collagen–induced arthritis and Adjuvant –induced arthritis to check the efficacy of drugs to develop therapeutic drugs for the disease Rheumatoid arthritis.
She received the prestigious Women Scientist fellowship 2009 from DST, Government of India, for developing a drug from Envelope proteins of Chikungunya virus.
Dr. Kashyap is an accomplished educator and a researcher with a profound dedication to the field of biochemistry and biomedical sciences. Her academic journey has been marked by excellence. She has more than 15 years of experience of teaching and research in the higher education industry. She is actively engaged in teaching and research. Her area of interest lies in Cross talk and Signaling Pathways in immune cells underlying different Infectious Diseases, Cancers and Drug Discovery with an emphasis on Leprosy, Cervical and Ovarian cancer.
Dr. Kashyap’s scholarly endeavors are punctuated by numerous publications, including research papers, review articles, and chapters in reputed journals of high impact factor. Her contributions have enriched the scientific community’s understanding of Signal transduction pathways in T cells, Apoptotic pathways, Cancer biology, Nanotechnology, and Biomedical sciences. She has participated and delivered lectures in various international/national conferences in addition to posters presentation and her leadership extends to administrative roles, where she has mentored students, overseen international collaborations, and participated in key institutional committees.
