Dr. Mehreen Aftab, Ph.D

Dr. Mehreen Aftab completed her graduation and post-graduation in Zoology from Aligarh Muslim University. She received her Ph.D from Amity Institute of Molecular Medicine & Stem Cell Research, Amity University, Noida. Her doctoral research was focused to understand the miRNA signature as a potential biomarker for non-invasive detection of cervical pre-cancer and cancer.
She worked as research associate in the multi-centric collaborative project on “Comparative study of genetic, clinical and epidemiological factors of breast cancer in Indian population (National Task Force Project)” at ICMR- National Institute of Cancer Prevention & Research, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.
Dr. Aftab has more than a decade of teaching and research experience. During this period, she has published several research articles in peer reviewed international journals. She has expertise in non-invasive HPV and non-coding RNAs for non-invasive detection of cervical and breast cancer.
She is a multi-disciplinary research professional with a strong background in development of cancer biomarkers. She is also an effective team player and strong individual contributor.
