Dr. Renuka Suravajhala, Ph.D
Renuka Suravajhala is a Chemist by training and eventually put her interests in Biochemistry and Structural Biology. Currently, she is a Sr. Research Associate in Department of Chemistry, School of Basic science, Manipal University Jaipur, India where she worked on synthesis of nanopolymers, analytical validation and its application in selective targeted drug delivery systems.
Renuka Suravajhala is a B.Sc in Botany, Zoology and Chemistry (Honors) from Kakatiya University and M.Sc in Organic chemistry from Kakatiya University,Warangal. She was a recipient of JNCASR fellowship -2001 as a part of her Master’s and worked in Dept of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of India (IISc),Bangalore. Later she had worked at Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad before moving to Roskilde University, Denmark for her Ph.D. in Chemical Biology. Her Ph.D. was focused on to understand the methylation mechanism in cancers.
Renuka has a vast experience in research involving synthetic chemistry, analytical techniques applied for validation with hands on experience in mammalian cell lines and associated with James Lind Institute as Medical Writer and Content Developer. She is a recipient of Ramdas Pai award and published in national and international journals besides presenting her work in various conferences. In 2009, she cofounded Women in Biology forum at Bioclues.org, India’s largest bioinformatics society working for mentor-mentee relationships. Renuka Suravajhala considers continuing her research and would like to do her best that can benefit the society.
