
Dr. Shahper N Khan, Ph.D.
Dr. Shahper Nazeer Khan completed his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh and has nearly six years of international research experience, including approximately four years at Cleveland Clinic, USA, and nearly two years at the University of Manitoba, Canada.
His research expertise primarily focuses on cancer epigenetics, chromatin biology, histone and DNA modifications, molecular biomarkers, and epigenetic mechanisms in hematological malignancies, particularly leukemia and multiple myeloma. At ICEIR, his work has a strong emphasis on clinical and translational research, including molecular analysis of clinical samples and biomarker discovery. His broader research interests encompass precision medicine, HLA genomics, transplantation immunology, interdisciplinary biomedical research, liquid biopsy, metabolomics, computational drug discovery and AI/ML-based diagnostics.
Dr. Khan has expertise in advanced molecular and cellular methodologies, including immunoprecipitation (IP), ChIP, ATAC-seq, PCR/qPCR, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, ELISA, and cell-based assays. He also has experience in the isolation and characterization of specific blood and stem-cell populations for research applications, as well as ICP-MS for the detection and quantification of heavy metals in biological and clinical samples.
His contributions span research project development, grant writing, scientific writing and peer review, research mentoring, clinical research, and interdisciplinary research coordination. He has received the DST Early Career Research Award and Young Scientist Award and the Cleveland Clinic Caregiver Award, and serves as an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Epigenomics.
